Science Inquiry Labs 38

is designed to engage grades 3-8 students in science inquiry, in an academy setting.   The inquiry methods  helps the students learn the processes of science through problem solving and critical thinking by designing and conducting investigations, and in communicating their findings.

Science Inquiry 38 is in line with the USA National Science Education Standards (NSES)

Science Inquiry Labs 38
will develop inquiry skills that students can transfer to their daily lives.  These labs will fill in the gaps from the regular classroom and help them in their future, to be able to compete successfully in a global world, increasingly dependent upon science and technology.

Ask yourself, are students collaborating, thinking critically and logically, or proposing and answering questions in the science classroom?  Science Labs 38 is designed to fill in those gaps and give these experiences.

The NSES (1996). “Scientific inquiry refers to the diverse ways in which scientists study the natural world and propose explanations based on the evidence derived from their work.

Inquiry also refers to the activities of students in which they develop knowledge and understanding of scientific ideas, as well as an understanding of how scientists study the natural world.”

Inquiry is a set of interrelated processes by which scientists and students pose questions about the natural world and investigate phenomena; in doing so, students acquire knowledge and develop a rich understanding of concepts, principles, models, and theories.

Inquiry is a critical component of a science program at all grade levels and in every domain of science..."
